The Role of the Personal Assistant - (either a full or ½ day session)

To have a greater understanding of the role of the Personal Assistant, ensuring Disabled children and young people have control and choice of their leisure possibilities and personal care.

1. To understand the role as a PA for Disabled children and young people
2. To understand the meaning of Personal Assistance using the social model approach
3. To develop personal assistance plans for each child/young person to ensure their requirements are met
4. To be aware of current Legislation regarding Inclusion and Equality
5. To start the process of developing relevant policies for their setting
